Nolan Franques

Opelousas-Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel for Nolan Franques, 81, who passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008, at 11:18 a.m. at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto, La. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Mark Melancon will conduct the funeral service.

Mr. Franques was employed by Lee Dry Goods in Shreveport, La. for 35 years. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, La.

Mr. Franques is survived by his sons, Harold Gene Franques of Laplace, La.; Ken Franques of Lafayette, La. and his daughter, Cecelia Ann McBride of Tucson, Arizona.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Franques was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Cecelia Franques and one sister, Nellie Hidalgo.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at 7:00 p.m.
