Nita Prudhomme

Funeral services for Nita D. Prudhomme will be Wednesday August 29, 2007 at 11:00am in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to be in the Pitre Prudhomme cemetery in Prairie Rhonde. Monsignor Louis Melancon will conduct the services.

Mrs. Prudhomme, age 85 died Sunday August 26, 2007 at 2:20pm in Doctors Hospital.

She was the last living aunt of Chef Paul Prudhomme. She was also a member of the Senior Companions at Doctors Hospital.

Survivors include her daughters; Anna S. Guillory and husband James W.of Port Barre, Shirley S. Pitre and husband Kermit of Opelousas, Marie P. Vidrine of Opelousas and Linda P. Lavergne of Opelousas, brother; Henry Doucet of Chickasha, OK., sister; Mrs. Abel Josephine Prudhomme of Opelousas, 24grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; Julian Doucet and Marie Hebert Doucet, husband; Enick Pete Prudhomme, brothers; Willie Doucet and Wallace Doucet, sister, Theresa Doucet Janice, half sister; Edna Doucet and a half brother; Eugene Doucet and son-in-law; Olide Vidrine Jr,

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00pm until 10:00pm and Wednesday from 8:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00pm.
