Nicky James Lavergne

Funeral services for Nicky James Lavergne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Brother Thomas Ayo will officiate the service.

Nicky, who was age 46, died at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 2, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Family time meant the world to Nicky. He loved every minute that he was able to spend with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time fishing, camping and cooking. Nicki was a truck driver by profession. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and his dear friends.

Nicky is survived by the love of his life, his wife Dana Ellis; parents, Donald Lavergne and Melinda as well as Betty Pommier and husband Nick; grandmother, Grace Venable; sons, Matthew Richard, Gaige Ellis and Hunter Vidrine; daughters, Samantha Richard and Keitha Lavergne; brothers, Larry Lavergne and wife Connie, Adam Lavergne and wife Courtney; Donald “DJ” Lavergne and wife Marla; sisters, Melissa Fontenot; sister-in-law, Georgie Disotell; grandchildren, Saben Simmons, Ashley Richard, and Renezmae Stelly; godchild, Landon Lavergne and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leo and Versey Vasseur; paternal grandparents, Joseph “JC” Lavergne; uncle, James Lavergne; nephew, Gabriel Lavergne; aunt, Jeanette Ardoin; mother-in-law, Connie Mason.

Nicky’s pallbearers will be Larry Lavergne, Adam Lavergne, DJ Lavergne, Troy Pitre, John Lavergne, Tony Vasseur, Khristian Disotell and Cameron Lavergne. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Vidrine and Landon Lavergne.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Nicky’s caregivers Bert, Donna, Ashley and Sharon from Grace Hospice and other special family members, Georgie Disotell, Betty Pommier, Melinda Lavergne, Terry and Oscar Mason.

Visiting will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs beginning on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday.
