Nick Sylvester

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Nick Samuel Sylvester announces his death on July 21, 2020.

Nick, of Opelousas, Louisiana was born in Arnaudville, LA on September 26, 1961 to Joseph and Helen Capello Sylvester.

Nick was a firefighter by profession, having worked with the St. Landry Fire District #3.

Mr. Sylvester was also a beloved Minister to Gumpoint court of Praise Church of Branch, LA of where he has served faithfully in character and in deed and will be missed tremendously.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Emily Courvelle Sylvester; his mother, Helen Capello Sylvester; daughter, Amanda Sylvester; son, Chad James Pitre; brothers, Ted Sylvester and wife Ann, Ronald Sylvester and wife Amanda, and Michael Sylvester and wife Stacey; sister, Suzanne Christy and and husband Sam Alleman, Sharon Misra and husband, Abhay, and Mary Beth Dyson and husband Harry; grandchildren, Jarryd Pitre, Dylan Pitre, Victoria Naquin and great grandchild, Elijah Naquin.

Nick was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. "Jay" Sylvester.
