Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Nelma Cecile (Smith) Langlais at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas.  The very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Nelma Cecile (Smith) Langlais, age 78, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Senior Village Nursing Home.

Nelma and her husband, Ed, loved to travel internationally and across the United States.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Langlois; her brother, Darrell Smith; sister, Deann Hunt; and special niece and nephew, Mitch and Jeana Leger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.B. and Delphine Bourgue Smith; sister, Youffa Leger; brother, Harry Smith; and nephews, Scott Smith and Mark Leger.
