Myrtle Lavergne

Opelousas Services for Myrtle Vidrine Lavergne, age 78, will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Father James Liperi will officiate the services.

Mrs. Lavergne, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 8:15 p.m. at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Myrtle was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived her husband, Clifton Lavergne of Opelousas, La. her sisters, Lou Rella Vidrine, Betty Ardoin, Aline Hidalgo all of Opelousas, La. Anna Lee Meche of Lake Charles, La. and Dolores Guillot of Iowa, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdie and Aline Fontenot Vidrine her brother, Heulin Vidrine and an infant brother, James Carroll Vidrine.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, until service time. A rosary will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
