Opelousas A prayer service for Murtis Matthews Klootwyk will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. Chaplain Patrick Braquet will conduct the prayer service. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Klootwyk, age 77, a resident of Opelousas, LA died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include her children, Lona Lassere of Opelousas, LA Paul Sundergelt and wife, Valerie, of Vancouver, Washington Mona Lisa Martinez and husband, Henry, of Poydras, LA Zane Bryant and wife, Sharon, of Carriere, Mississippi her twin brother, Curtis Matthews and wife, Eula, of Carriere, Mississippi Charles CJ Matthews of Millard, Mississippi and her sisters, Nevest Coulon of Melville, LA and Mary Emma Moser of Mandeville, LA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, greatgreat grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Klootwyk and her parents, Clarence and Dometile Turner Matthews.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
