Murray Fontenot

Opelousas - Funeral services for Mr. Murray Joseph Fontenot, age 84, will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Reverend Angello Cremaldi will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mr. Fontenot died at Doctors Hospital on Monday, February 4, 2008. He was a resident of Opelousas. Mr. Fontenot was an active member of the Plaisance Rosary Group.

He is survived by his brother, Leroy Fontenot and wife, Melvine of Westwego and Patrick Fontenot and wife, Madeline of Krotz Springs and a sister, Lou Ella Soileau and her husband, Leroy of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by wife, Alberta Fontenot, his sisters, Wilda Roberie and Loraine Quebedeaux, brothers, Harold Fontenot and J.Y. Fontenot and his parents, Decroix Fontenot and Ella Joubert Fontenot.

The family has requested that visitation be observed at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will re-open Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
