Mrs. Alvin Fontenot

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Ozelima Tabb Fontenot at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 23, 2018, in the Skip Motet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Fontenot, age 97, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas.

Ozelima was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She retired from T. G. & Y. in Opelousas, loved sewing and gardening. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Gene R. Fontenot, Mark K. Fontenot, and Glenn T. Fontenot; her daughter, Rita F. Hawkins and step-daughter, Margarite Miller: sisters, Inez Richard and Florence Lynch. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin J. Fontenot; her parents, Anderson and Marie Cormier Tabb; daughters-in-law, Debia L. Fontenot and Sherry Fontenot; her son-in-law, Harry Hawkins, Jr.; her brothers, Houston Tabb, Gilbert Tabb, Dallas Tabb, Wilbert Tabb; her sisters, Louisa Bedford, Lucy Ann Bergeron; her stepchildren, Audrey Richard, Patricia Cain, Warren Fontenot and Alvin Earl Fontenot.
