Miya Norse

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Miya Elizabeth Norse, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the LeJeune Cemetery in Lawtell, LA. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will be the celebrant of the Mass.

Miya, age 15, a resident of Opelousas, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at her residence.

Miya attended MACA in Opelousas for Visual Arts, until her cancer diagnosis and also attended Hebert Dancentre for 10 years. She will be greatly missed, but will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends and all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents, Mikeal and Joan Gautreaux Norse her grandparents, Sheryl and Merrick Gautreaux, Jr. and Betty Norris. She is also survived by her brothers, Sebastian Mikeal Norse, Christian Gabriel Norse, Julian Jerrod Norse and her sister, Marlee Claire Norse.

She is preceded in death by her maternal greatgrandparents, Robert and Rena Stelly her paternal greatgrandparents, Wille Mae and Merrick Gautreaux, Sr. and her paternal grandfather, Dennis Norris, Sr.

Visiting hours will begin on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
