Milton Burleigh

KROTZ SPRINGS - Mr. Milton Burleigh, age 91, a resident of Krotz Springs, died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Opelousas General Health Systems.

Mr. Burleigh served his country proudly in the United States Naval Service during WWII. During his active duty he manned an attack transport ship in the Asiatic- Pacific Ocean. Mr. Burleigh was a sports advocate and loved college football especially LSU. He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce Higdon Burleigh of Krotz Springs, LA; his son, Karl Burton Burleigh of Krotz Springs, LA; his daughter Lynette Burleigh Artigue of Krotz Springs, LA; his grandchildren Blaine Burleigh and wife, Brandi of Pine Prairie, LA, Noelle Artigue and husband, David Green of Easton, PA, Lauryn Lace Ponchieaux and special friend, Logan Louviere of New Iberia, LA, Cody Puma and fiance, Adelle Landerno of Carencro, LA, Lanna Noelle Burleigh and special friend, Caleb Disotell of Krotz Springs, LA. He is also survived by his 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Burton Burleigh and Julia Dunkley; his brother James Burleigh and his daughter-in-law Connie Majors Burleigh.
