Milton Blanchard

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Milton Blanchard on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  Reverend Austin Leger will conduct the service.  Burial will take place in the St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery in Lawtell, La.

Mr. Blanchard, age 87, a resident of Lawtell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital.

Milton enjoyed life to the fullest.  He loved having family gatherings and cooking creole food.  He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Ledoux and husband, Glenn; Sheila Roberts and husband, Bo; four grandchildren, Amy Lauret (Charles), Kim Kelly (Shane), Trey Roberts (Erica), Sean Roberts (Becca); eleven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Catlyn, Carsyn, Logan, Anslee, Blaire, Landry, Chandler, Carter, Colin, Brady; two great-great grandchildren, Dax and Vivian Berard and his special friend, Wanda Olivier.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roma Lee Blanchard; his parents, Essey and Leony Domingue Blanchard and his brothers, Larry Blanchard and Clifton Blanchard.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Skip Montet Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday by Reverend Austin Leger.  Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Trey Roberts, Colin Lauret, Chandler Olivier, Charles Lauret, Shane Kelly, Bo Roberts and honorary pallbearers will be Sean Roberts, Glenn Ledoux and Carter Olivier.
