Mildred "Millie" Sellers Boudreau

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mildred Sellers Boudreau, age 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, LA, followed by Rite of Committal interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery also in Washington, LA. The Reverend Matthew Higginbotham will celebrate the Mass.

“Millie” was a native of the Republic of Panama and was a long-time resident of Washington.  She passed away at Opelousas General Hospital under the care of Heart Hospice at 4:17 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Mrs. Boudreau was a 15-year employee of DeJean and Ledet Law Offices in Opelousas. She served the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as a clerk/typist for 10 years and as Town Clerk for the City of Washington for another 8 years.  She also served as an organist for the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas for several years.

She is survived by her two sons, Walton Sellers, III (Christine) of Opelousas, and William Sellers (Siobhan) of Baton Rouge.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, William P. Sellers, Jr., of Baton Rouge and Caitlin Sellers Zelesnik (Stephen) of Hammond, Louisiana, one sister, Eileen Semon, (Calvin) of Beaverton, Oregon, and one niece, Selina Semon, of Portland, Oregon.

“Millie” was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Isabel Damerau, longtime residents of Washington, LA and two husbands, Walton P. Sellers, Jr., and Kirtley Boudreau, Sr., both of Washington, LA.

Visiting hours will be observed on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and will re-open on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Hwy. 182 South. in Opelousas. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions in “Millie’s” name can be made to the Opelousas Area Cerebral Palsy Clinic, 841 East Bellevue St, Opelousas, LA, 70570.

The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Parks and the staff at Opelousas General Health System for their professionalism, love and care given to “Millie” during her time of need.
