Mildred Whipp

Funeral services for Ms. Mildred “Millie” Whipp will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the services.

Millie bore her lifelong cross of suffering with great faith and dignity, and on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at age 81, Millie received her Heavenly reward. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend and will be fondly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear friends. Her love for her family reflected her great love of Our Lord and devotion to Him through her Come Lord Jesus prayer group, and her dedication to His Blessed Mother through her devotion to the Rosary.

Millie is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Hazel Broussard, beloved husband of 45 years Bonneal Whipp, Sr.; her children Neal and Brandon Whipp and Lisa Whipp Perrodin; and her cherished pets.

Survivors include her sons Kent and wife Bessie Whipp of Lafayette, and Troy and wife Lisa Whipp of Opelousas; daughters-in-law Kathy Whipp of Lafayette, and Angie Whipp of Ashland, OH; son-in-law Tim Perrodin of Opelousas; grandchildren Sarah Whipp Keating, Aline Whipp Forestier, Noah Whipp, Maggie Whipp, Logan Whipp, Jake Whipp, Aaron Whipp, Samuel Whipp, Meagan Whipp, and Maddie Whipp; brother Norris Broussard and wife Sydney of Victoria, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren.

The Whipp family would like to thank her devoted caregivers – Donna Joubert, Nonnie Young, Rochelle Andrus, Nelda Fisher, Kay Sowyers and Linda Pickens – for the loving and patient care they have given to Millie for many years. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for their care during this transition.

The family requests visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, with recitation of the Rosary at 3 p.m.
