Mildred Lally

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred Bertrand Lally, age 91, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, La. followed by interment in the St. Landry Church Mausoleum. The Reverend James Brady will conduct the mass.

Mrs. Lally, a resident of Opelousas, La., died peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. in Houma, La. at her daughters residence.

Mildred, also known as Jid, was past president of the Parish Medical Auxiliary and past president of the AARP Local Chapter and was an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include: her son, John F. Lally, III and wife, Linda, of Washington, La. her daughter, Milly Lally Dampeer and husband, John O. Dampeer, M.D. of Houma, La. and her sister, Audrey Bertrand Wright of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Carol Ann Lally, Leslie Lally Binder, John Lally Steigner, M.D., Michael Lally Steigner, M.D., Patrick Lally Steigner, Jason Lally Steigner, Stephanie Senac Gomez, Paul James Senac, Heather Lally Council. She is also survived by 10 greatgrandchildren: Lorraine Lally Steigner, John Oliver Steigner, Liam Lally Steigner, Gwen Gerard Steigner, John Ethan Steigner, Kristen Durand, Jessica Longacre, Brandon Michael Lally, Dillon John Dupre and Alexis Ahart.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Dr. John Francis Lally, Jr., parents Irvin and Inez Bertrand son, Ralph Charles Lally, II and a daughter, Pamela Lally Senac.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
