Michael Allen Dupont, Jr.

Palmetto - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michael Shaggy Dupont, Jr. 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Reverend Stevens will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.

Michael, age 25, a resident of Palmetto, LA, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

Michael loved playing his guitar and listening to rock music. He loved throwing knives, riding 4-wheelers and playing video games. Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Michael Allen Dupont, Sr. and Ethel Ann Guillory Dupont; his brother, Timothy Goheen; his sister, Ashley Hatcher and husband, Nathan; his paternal grandparents, Debbie Hickman and husband, Zeno; his maternal grandmother, Dolores Coburn; his great-grandmother, Joyce Sagnibene; his Godfather and Uncle, Nathan Hickman and wife, Dana; his nieces, Avery Sue Hatcher, Ava Claire Hatcher and his cousins, Ava Hickman, Isabella Hickman and Harper Hickman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Elaine Goheen Dupont; his maternal grandfather, Delmer Coburn and his paternal great-grandfather, Mitchell Sagnibene.

Pallbearers will be Vincent Sagnibene, Fred Hutchins, Edgar Carreno, Timothy Goheen, Nathan Hatcher and Darrell Mouille.
