Krotz SpringsService for Michael James Kling, age 50, will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Anthony Catholic Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery in Krotz Springs, Louisiana. Rev. Mark Ledoux will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.
Mr. Kling, a resident of Krotz Springs, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 5:35 a.m. at Opelousas General Health System.
Mr. Kling was a dedicated and longtime employee of Alon USA. He also loved camping, fishing and most of all spending time with his beautiful grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Kling of Krotz Sprngs, La.; his three daughters, Melanie Young and Victoria Kling both of Krotz Springs, La.; Brittany Kling and friend, Jace Deshotel, of Washington, La.; his brother, Berlin Joseph Kling, Jr. of Dutchtown, La. and his sister, Vicki Davis and her husband, John, and their children, John, Jr. and Joseph, of Prairieville, La. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Noah, Khami, Emily, Colin, Owen and Kahlen.
Mr. Kling was preceded in death by his parents, Berlin and Yvonne Kling of Dutchtown, La.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary service will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Pallbearers will be: Jacob LeBleu, John Davis, Berlin B.J. Kling, Jace Deshotel, Guy Landreneau and Shane Lafleur.
