Esther Funeral services will be held for Michael James Bear Hebert at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014, in the St. James Mission Chapel , 21125 LA Hwy 333, Esther, LA, 70533. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the funeral service. Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hebert, age 55, a native of San Antonio, TX and a resident of Palmetto, LA, died on Monday, July 7, 2014, in Tilden, Texas.
Bear, which was Michaels handle, was a professional truck driver who took pride and admiration in his profession. He enjoyed reading books, playing solitaire, board games, watching John Wayne movies, and hunting. Michael will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Survivors are his wife, Jean Alfaro Hebert, of Palmetto, LA his mother, Peggy Arcement Hebert, of San Antonio, TX his daughters, Michele Hebert Warren and husband, Jason, of Forest Hill, LA Christy Hebert Williams and husband, Lee, of Chattanooga, TN his brother, Ronald Hebert and wife, Jo, of San Antonio, TX and his sister, Sharron Hebert Mayes and husband, Dennis, of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Christian Michael Hebert McCool and Angel Theresa Miller.
He was preceded in death by his father, Percy Hebert.
Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet at St. James Mission Chapel, 21125 LA Hwy 333, Esther, LA 70533 on Monday. A rosary will be prayed on Sunday evening.
