Maydell Jagneaux

Funeral services for Maydell Dupre Jagneaux will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Paul Bienvenu will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mrs. Jagneaux, age 81, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Senior Village Nursing Home. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society and a member of the neighborhood Rosary Group. She loved French music, butterflies, and hibiscus plants. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons; Glynn Reed and his wife Susan of Oklahoma City, OK, and Randy Reed and his wife Sally of Opelousas, a sister-in-law; Mildred Dupre of Opelousas. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Glynn Reed II, of Baton Rouge, Angel Reed of Missouri, Randi Janise of Port Barre, Candace Guidroz of Port Barre and Ronnie Reed of Oklahoma City, OK and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Jules Reed; 2nd husband, Joseph Jagneaux; parents, Dewey and Laura Pitre Dupre and a brother, J.D. Dupre Jr.

The family has requested that visitation will be observed on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas and will continue on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
