A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Maxine Carson Robison on Tuesday January 12, 2010 at 3:00 pm in the St. Landry Catholic Church. The interment will be in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Monsignor Robert Romero and Fr.Gary Schexnayder will conduct the services.
Mrs. Robison, age 83, a resident of Opelousas died Saturday January 9, 2010 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home. She was a homemaker, parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church and belonged to the St. Landry Catholic Church Altar Society and also the Friends of the Bereaved. Maxine dedicated her life in service through work and volunteerism with St. Landry Parish Council on Aging, Prompt Succor Nursing Home, St. Landry Catholic Church CCD and the Opelousas Catholic PTO.
Survivors include her 5 sons Michael Robison and wife Judy of Harpers Ferry, WV., Stephen Robison of Indianapolis, IN., Joe Robison and wife Desiree of Opelousas, LA., John Robison and wife Karen of Madison, MS. and Phillip Robison and wife Karen of Lafayette, LA., 3 daughters Helen Robison Balhoff and husband Bob of Houston, TX., Rita Robison Grogan and husband Mike of Austin, TX. and Mary Robison Joubert and husband Dwayne of Opelousas, LA., 19 grandchildren: Elizabeth Bland and husband David, Patrick Robison, Patrice Childress and husband Jason, Michael Balhoff, Rebecca Balhoff, Elaine Luttrull and husband Michael, James Grogan, Jonathan Robison, Jennifer Tucker and husband Cassidy, Cory Robison, Erin Coney and husband Brad, Matt Robison, Stacy Robison, Christopher Robison, Jason Robison and wife Rebecca, Lauren Landry and husband Brett, Ben Robison, Allison Robison and Sarah Joubert and 3 great grandchildren Catherine Bland, Bennett Coney and Olivia Luttrull.
Preceded in death by her parents George Carson and Delpha Mae Payne Carson, husband James D. Robi Robison, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 11, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and Tuesday 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 pm.
The Ladies Altar Society will recite a rosary at 10:00 am on Tuesday morning.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Opelousas Catholic School Chapel.
The family would like to thank Prompt Succor Nursing Home, Dr. J.Y. Bordelon, Dr. Louis Nix, Angie Goins, NP and staff for the care and compassion extended during our time of need.
