Visitation will be held for Mavis Miller Mouille on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Mouille, age 62, a resident of Palmetto, LA, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Opelousas General Health System.
Mavis retired from Merchants & Farmers Bank of Melville after 16 years of service. She enjoyed singing in the St. Berchman Catholic Church choir in Cankton, arts and crafts and loved playing cards especially, Bourre'. Her family has claimed her to be "The best cook in the world!" She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Perry Grant Mouille; her sons, Eldridge John Hargrave, Jr. of Sunset, LA and Kelly Joseph Hargrave of Sunset, LA; her stepdaughters, Shana Garland and husband, Scott of Prairieville, LA and Melanie Kephart and husband, Rick of Basile, LA and her two sisters, Linda Williamson of Sunset, LA and Cheryl Schexsnayder of Bayou Rouge, LA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Gabriella, Olivia, Chandler Paul and Coleman and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Willis Miller and Effie Marie Ledoux Miller.
