Mary Jane Hollier

Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mary Jane Hollier at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas.  Father Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery in Opelousas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas beginning at 8:30 a.m.  A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. followed by the procession to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mary Jane Hollier, age 83, on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

Mary Jane was avid sports fan and loved cheering on the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.  She also enjoyed baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  Mary Jane will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Elliot Hollier and wife, Tamea, and Hulin James Hollier; her daughter, Mary Ann Morain and her brothers, Leroy Lejeune and wife, Lillie Mae, Donald Lejeune and wife, Peggy and Asa Lejeune, Jr. and wife, Cathy.  She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilman Hollier; her parents, Asa and Rena Lejeune; her sons, Gregory Hollier and Jude Hollier, Jr.; her granddaughter, Emily Marie Hollier; her brothers, Gibson Lejeune, Hilman Lejeune and Alan Lejeune.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Morain, Lance Ardoin, Elliot Hollier, II, Gregory Hollier, Jr., Grant Hollier and Curtis Hollier.
