Maryina Courvelle

Funeral services for Mrs. A.B. Courvelle, Sr., the former Maryina Thibodeaux, age 88, will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Wayland Vincent, pastor of the Gumpoint Church, followed by a funeral service conducted by the Reverend Jim Brady, pastor of the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Interment will be held in the Bellevue Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Courvelle who was a resident of Opelousas, died peacefully at her home in Opelousas on Saturday, May 21, 2011.

She is survived by her sons, Phillip P.J Courvelle and significant other, Barbara Sattler of Opelousas, A.B. Courvelle, Jr. and wife Janis of Opelousas, Lambert Courvelle and wife Charlotte of Washington daughter, Emily C. Sylvester and husband Nick of Opelousas a sister, Norma Richard and husband A.B. of Lafayette numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Courvelle, Sr her parents and a son, Amar Courvelle.

Visiting will be observed in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed on Monday evening.
