Mary Ellen Massey

Mary Ellen Massey a native of Melville, Louisiana, and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for over 20 years passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Raising her four boys in Melville, Mary Ellen was a homemaker in her early years. Later in life she worked as a sales representative for Clinique at Dillards in both Cortana Mall and the Mall of Louisiana. She never met a stranger, as memorialized in her famous greeting to family and friends, “Hey Darlin’”!

Mary Ellen is survived by her brother, Harvey L. Massey, Jr. of Winter Park, FL; three sons and their wives: David (Melissa), Daryn (Monica), and Dale (Lindsey); five grandchildren: Joshua Mougeot, Ashley Mougeot Metrailer (Micah), Blake Mougeot (Shelby), Brooke Mougeot Stevens (Travis), and Jacob Mougeot; and one great grandchild, Miller Brooks Stevens.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her beloved eldest son, Daniel “Danny” Mougeot; her father, Harvey Massey Sr.; and her mother, Margaret Corte Massey.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 25, 2022, at 11:30 AM in the St. John Cemetery, 224 Gum Street, Melville, LA.  The family gathering will be held from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home, 607 First Street Melville, LA 71353. A Rosary service will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
