Mary Prudhomme

Funeral services will be held for Mary Ann Prudhomme at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 5, 2018, in the Skip Montet Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Burial will be held in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Mrs. Prudhomme, a resident of Port Barre, LA, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved reading her bible and praying for her family. She enjoyed caring for her flowers and found joy in serving others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Russell Prudhomme and wife, Linda; her daughters, Rebecca Lanclos and Brenda Collette and husband, Craig and her brother, Edmond Sonnier and wife, Kimmie. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Damon Prudhomme, Troy Brocato, Chad Soileau, Ida B. Hancock, Melissa Bergeron and Ash Lanclos and three adopted grandchildren, Jane Heels, Gabriel Collette and Tilly Arceneaux. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Macie Prudhomme, Tyler Hancock, Ava Hancock, Colin Soileau, Kenzi Soileau, Anthony Brocato, Conner Bergeron, Krystian Bergeron and two great-grandchildren, Lila Rose Coates and Warren Michael Heels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Prudhomme; her parents, Nestor Sonnier and Constance Blanchard; her grandson, Russell Prudhomme, Jr.; her brothers, Gurvey Sonnier, Columbus Sonnier, Neubun Sonnier and Burleigh Sonnier; her sister, Athile Comeaux and her son-in-law, Raymond Lanclos.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. The funeral home will reopen on Sunday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM

Pallbearers will be Troy Brocato, Anthony Brocato, Damon Prudhomme, Chad Soileau, Steve Hancock and Charles Bergeron. Honorary pallbearers will be Conner Bergeron and Colin Soileau.

The family requests donations may be made in Mary Ann's honor to the Acadiana Baptist Center in Richard, LA or the Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA.
