Opelousas - Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 for Mary Doucet Carvell in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Reverend Austin Leger will conduct the service.

Mary, age 65, a resident of Opelousas, LA passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018.

Ms. Carvell was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She loved taking cruises and enjoyed eating good food at local restaurants. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Irene Doucet of Lawtell, LA; her son, Joseph "Kenneth" Pitre of Denham Springs, LA; her brother, Hilton Doucet of Lawtell, LA; her sisters, Carolyn Deprimo of Washington, LA; Susan Rodney of Dubois, WY and Jenny Cronin of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Lance Pitre, Gavin Pitre and Brooke Pitre and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Pitre, Layla House, Taylor Pitre and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Doucet; her sister, Theresa Seabrook and nephew, Elie Joseph Doucet.

Visitation will be held in the Skip Montet Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will reopen at 8:00 AM on Sunday, January 21, 2018 until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018.
