Mary Anne Miller Hiller

January 23, 1948 — March 6, 2025

Opelousas

Born January 23, 1948, Mary Anne Miller Hiller, a lifelong resident of Opelousas, Louisiana peacefully passed away at her home on Thursday, March 6, 2025. She was 77 years of age.

Her wish was to have a simple and dignified private graveside service with immediate family in attendance. She was never one to make a fuss about things, or to call attention to herself. Anne was fond of the outdoors and found joy in fishing and in spending time at the camp on Toledo Bend Reservoir. She was a devout wife for 56 years of her life and was also a genuine and unconditionally loving mother and grandmother. The sacrifices a mother makes should never go unnoticed or unannounced. She was quite simply the best. They say only the good die young, but this old broad was as good as gold.

Anne is survived by her son, Charles Hiller VI, and her daughter, Ashley Hiller Burleigh, and husband, Chad Burleigh. She will be remembered by her two grandchildren, Rhyan Camille and Reece Catherine Burleigh, and her sister-in-law, Lola Pearl Miller. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Scooter" Hiller V, her firstborn daughter, Krishna Hiller Crawford, her only brother Byron Lawrence Miller, and both parents, Lawrence Miller & Beatrice Franchebois Miller.

The survivors would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to, and deep appreciation for an earth angel by the name of Lakerria "Kee" Simon who committed over two years of her own life to the unequivocal care, health, and well-being of our mother. Kee has been an integral part of daily life, and without whom, we would have been totally lost. We are forever indebted and truly grateful for the "lessons and blessins" you've shared with us these last 26 months. We would also like to thank Brookes Lacombe and Pam Arnaud for their unwavering support and significant contributions during these last few months.

Let perpetual light shine down in the absence of Mary Anne, and may she rest in eternal peace.
