Opelousas A funeral service will be held for Marshall DAvy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Justin DAvy will conduct the funeral service.
Marshall, age 64, who was a native of Opelousas, LA, died on Friday, September 12, 2014, in the comfort of his home.
He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a retired Amusement Machine Mechanic. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, being outdoors and spoiling his grandchildren. On just about any given day, you could find him on his lawn mower or working in his yard. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ronnie Watkins DAvy, of Opelousas his daughters, Sandy DAvy Fontenot and husband, Charles, of Opelousas April DAvy Lassere and husband, Ricky, of Opelousas his brothers, N.J. DAvy, Jr. and wife, Lillian, of Baton Rouge Terry DAvy and wife, Janine of Roxie, MS his sister, Majorie DAvy Robin of Opelousas and his brotherinlaw, Gordon D. Watkins and wife, Mayra, of Opelousas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chelsea Lassere Robin and husband, Trent, Ellen Fontenot, Haily Lassere, Hunter Fontenot, Gage Lassere and his greatgrandson, Marshall Robin and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nubby DAvy, Sr. and wife, Joyce S. DAvy and his brotherinlaw, Jimmy Robin.
Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, September 13, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
