Marla Pitre

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Marla Ann Lafleur Pitre, age 45, on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, La. followed by interment in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Prairie Ronde, La. Father Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services.

Marla, who was a native of Prairie Ronde, La. and resident of Washington, La., died peacefully at her parents family farm on Thursday, May 20, 2010.

Marla worked as a customer relations employee for eight years at the LHC Group in Opelousas.

She is survived by her husband, Chad Patrick Pitre of Washington, La. her parents, James Harry and Jacqueline Caillouet Lafleur of Prairie Ronde, La. her motherinlaw and fatherinlaw, Donald P. and Joy Trouille Pitre of Washington, La. her brothers, Freddie Ray Lafleur and wife, Connie, of Opelousas, La. Steven Jay Lafleur and wife, Fran, of Prairie Ronde, La. Jimmy Lafleur and wife, Karen, of Prairie Ronde, La. Joey Michael Lafleur and wife, Cindy, of Prairie Ronde, La. her sisters, Lori Lafleur Bratton and husband, Mike, of Ponchatoula, La. and Angela Lafleur Fortier and husband, Francis, of Prairie Ronde, La. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and also, her special godchildren, Evan Fortier, Lindy Fortier and Matt Lafleur.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edna and James Caillouet and Alma and Teurling Lafleur.

The family wishes to express their thankfulness to all the family and friends for their numerous prayers and support.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 until service time. A rosary will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
