Marie Lois Guillory

Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Marie Lois Stelly Guillory at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, La.  Father Darren Eldridge will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal will take place at the St. Leo Church Mausoleum.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marie Lois Stelly Guillory, age 79, on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Marie loved cooking, visiting with her family, and tending to her garden.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Grimmett and husband, Dwain; her brother, David Stelly and wife, Angie and her sisters, Thelma Stelly and husband, Glenn, and Sandra Wyble and husband, Karlen.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Brittany Grimmett, Brandy Boudreaux (Joey), Kelly Jenkins (Toby), Garrett Guillory (Melody), Matthew Guillory (Natalie) and Naomi Dupre (Jake) and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Guillory, Jr.; her son, Clyde Joseph Guillory; her daughter, Melanie Guillory; her parents, Mervin and Thelma Stelly; her brothers, Mervin Stelly and Tommy Stelly and her sisters, Vivian Moreau and Connie Stelly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  A Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Guillory, Matthew Guillory, Toby Jenkins, Branson Guillory, Jake Dupre and Joey Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers are Dwain Grimmett, Harper Landry and Camille Boudreaux. Readers during Mass will be Naomi Dupre, Hanna Jenkins and Hailey Jenkins.
