Marie "Elaine" Guillory

Opelousas – Funeral services for Marie “Elaine” Latiolais Guillory will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct service.  Burial will follow in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery.

It is with deep sorrow we regretfully announce the passing of Marie “Elaine” Latiolais Guillory on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the age of 79.  She passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Elaine was a nurse at Opelousas General Health System for 20 years.  She was a kind and giving person as well as a wonderful mother and friend.  She was a member of the St. Landry Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society and the Opelousas Garden Club.  Elaine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by sons, Bart Guillory and wife, Karen and Craig Guillory; her daughter, Angela Guillory Hansen; her brother, Roderick Latiolais and her sisters, Betty Stelly and husband, Russell and Joan Roy.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gabrielle and Madeleine Hansen and Sophie and Cole Guillory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen A. Guillory; her parents, Elie Joseph Latiolais and Celeste Pitre Latiolais; her brother, Clayton Latiolais and her sister, Pauline Latiolais.

Visitation will be held in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening by Deacon Dwayne Joubert.  The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Cole Guillory, Chad Montgomery, Scott Simmons, Shawn Dupuis, Dusty Stelly, Shane Stelly, Donald Deranger and Frank Boudreaux.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bart Guillory and Craig Guillory.
