Marie Saucier

Funeral services will be held for Marie Effie Devillier Saucier at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La. Rev. James Brady will conduct the service. Burial will be held in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Mrs. Saucier, age 92, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on March 14, 2014, at Heritage Manor in Opelousas.

Marie will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors are her son, George M. Saucier, Jr., of Opelousas, La. her stepdaughters, Gloria Calvert Virginia Saucier Jimenez both of San Antonio, Tx. Patricia A. Saucier of Houston, Tx. her brother, Raymond Devillier of Tomball,Tx. and a host of nieces, nephews, greatnieces, greatnephews, greatgreat nieces and greatgreat nephews also, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Saucier, Sr. her parents, Julian and Martha Charles Devillier her brothers, John O, Joseph O, Sherman, Leroy, Wilfred, Buford and Julian Devillier and her sisters, Elizabeth Andrus, Hazel D. Ortego and Annie D. Lalonde.

Visitation will be held at the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, March 16, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with a rosary at 12:30 p.m.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Michael Burnell, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care and to the staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
