Marie Lokey

Funeral Services will be held for Marie Elaine Lokey, age 67, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Melville. Reverend Aaron Claiborne will conduct the funeral service.

Mrs. Lokey, a resident of Port Allen, LA, died on Sunday, July 9, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Elaine enjoyed jackpot parties, was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Leo Duplechain (Jessica Arville) of Melville, LA; her daughters, Lisa Rouse (Teddest Bushnell) of Elton, LA; Jessica Landerno (Joey Landerno) of Erwinville, LA; her step-son, Mike Duplechain of Melville, LA; her step-daughter, Monique Duplechain (Theresa Wolfe) of Krotz Springs, LA; her brother, Johnny Desoto of Baton Rouge, LA; her sister, Vera Boggess (Jimmy) of Chickasaha, OK and Ruth Miller of Melville, LA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, Ivy Rouse, Cassandra Rouse, Dylan Landerno, Sage Duplechain, Sydni Duplechain, Logan Rouse, Espen Keys, Malyssa Keys, 4 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leodice Duplechain; parents, Vallery and Ivy Myers; her brothers, Vallery Myers, Jr., Clyde Desoto, Nelson Desoto; her sister, Leona Moreau; her step-daughter, Connie Duplechain and her godchildren, Jerrod Moreau and Byron Moreau.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of services.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her friend and caregiver, Mary Chutz, for the love and support she gave Elaine.
