Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Marie Flo J. Domingue, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend James Brady will conduct the funeral service.
Mrs. Domingue, age 75, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Opelousas General Health System.
Ms. Flo worked in the optical field for over 45 years. She was employed by Dr. Percy Christian until his retirement. Then she was employed by LaHaye Total Eye Care until March of this year when she became unable to continue working due to her health. She leaves to cherish her memory, her extended family coworkers at LaHaye Eye Care. Ms. Flos children will always be grateful to Dr. Leon Chip LaHaye for the love and support he gave their mother.
Ms. Flo was a loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend who enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching LSU and Saints football. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, attending her granddaughters cattle shows, watching videos of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, laughing and socializing with her many friends and caring for her beloved dachshund, Honey and her poodle, Precious. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
Survivors are her two daughters, Faye St. Amand and her husband, Ronald, of Washington and Jeannie Snyder and her husband, Bobby, of Youngsville two sons, George Wyble and his wife, Missy, of Port Barre and Art Mason and his wife, Amanda of Orange, TX nine grandchildren, Rhonda St. Amand Bourgeois, Regina St. Amand, Bobbie Jo Snyder Folse, Justin Snyder, Dusty and Kyle Bazar, David and Tra Mason and Joshua DuBus and five greatgrandchildren, Hayden and Cole Folse, Hunter and Logan Bazar and Addie Faye Bourgeois. She is also survived by a special godchild, Dennis Lavergne of Stowell, TX and one sister and two brothers.
She will be joined in Heaven with her parents, Joseph and Millian Pitre Johnson her son, Robert Bobby DuBus and her granddaughter, Lainey Nicole Wyble.
Visiting hours will begin on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Ronald St. Amand, Blake Bourgeois, Jeremy Folse, Dennis Lavergne, Nathan Carriere and Donald St. Amand.
The family would like to give special thanks to the physicians and staff at the Cardiovascular Institute of the South, especially Dr. Venkat, Dr. Carlos Mendez, Dr. Thomas Castille, Dr. Michael Burnell and the wonderful nurses at Opelousas General Hospital, especially ICU and Heritage Manor for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Ms. Marie and her family during their time of need.
