Marie Boudreaux

Opelousas Funeral services for Marie Cary Boudreaux will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA with Reverend Paul Bienvenu.

Mrs. Boudreaux, age 85, a resident of Lewisburg, LA died on Monday, December 10, 2012, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Marie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She was a great cook and enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband. As an accomplished seamstress, she often designed garments for family, friends and their dolls. She also created cloth crafts embellished with special touches. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Harry Boudreaux and wife, Mary Jane, of Baton Rouge, LA Dennis Boudreaux of Opelousas, LA David G. Boudreaux and wife, Julie, of Baton Rouge, LA her daughter, Kay Marie Zaunbrecher and husband, Lester J. Jody, of Lafayette, LA and her sister, Jeanne C. Bergeron and husband, Lyle, of Alexandria, LA. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland J. Boudreaux her parents, Valerie and Lucille Rivette Cary her brother, J.C. Cary and her grandson, Alex Zaunbrecher.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
