Opelousas Funeral services for Marguerite Saucier Taylor, age 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2010, in the LaFond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, followed by interment in the Methodist Cemetery in Palmetto. The Reverend Perry Hubbs, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Opelousas will conduct the service.
Mrs. Taylor who was a resident of Bridge City, Texas and former resident of Opelousas, died on August 5, 2010 at 3:18 a.m. in Orange, Texas.
Survivors include her five sons, Leslie Paul Saucier and wife Gracie, Gordon Lee Saucier, Jr. and wife Margaret all of Orange, TX, Wayne Saucier and wife Laura of Butte la Rose, LA, Danny Saucier and wife Susan of Opelousas, LA, Jimmy Saucier of Orange, TX, two sisters, Gloria Lanclos and Betsy Boles both of Opelousas, LA. She was one of eight children. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Gordon Saucier second husband Jewel Taylor son, John Dale Saucier and her parents.
Visitation will held on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
