Opelousas Funeral services for Margaret T. Roy, the former Anna Margaret Theriot, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA, with the Reverend Jody Amato conducting services.

Mrs. Roy, age 77, a resident of Scott, LA, died on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at her residence.

Margaret was the matriarch of the family and always spoke her mind and you always knew where you stood with her. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Jay Roy, of Texas City, Texas her daughters, Roberta Roy of Lafayette, LA Lynda Roy of Lafayette, LA her former husband, Harry Roy, of Port Barre, LA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Niki McCormick, Jacque Mistric, Chance Mistric, Cicely Guidry, Coby Roy and Kaleb Roy and 6 greatgrandchildren, Andrew Mayer, Alexys Guidry, Joleigh Mistric, Cruz Rylan Guidry, Chandler Grant Guidry and Jadyn Roy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Felicien Delahoussaye Theriot two brothers and three sisters.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Jay Roy, Jacque Mistric, Chance Mistric, Andrew Mayer, Coby Roy and E.J. Savoy.
