Margaret Elaine Bihm Andrepont, affectionately known as Elaine, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2025, at Opelousas General Health System. She was born on November 1, 1935, in Palmetto, Louisiana, Elaine lived a vibrant life dedicated to her family, community, and profession.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany (1103 S. Union Street, Opelousas, LA 70570) at 3:00 p.m. Father Laurent De Prins will conduct the service.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The burial will follow in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery in Opelousas.
Elaine received her education at Palmetto High School, graduating in 1953. She then attended nursing school at Charity Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana. For over 30 years, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Dr. S.J. Rozas, making a significant impact on the lives of many patients throughout her career.
A lifelong resident of Opelousas, Elaine was not only devoted to her profession but also committed to her community. She was a proud member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Opelousas, where she found meaning and purpose in her faith.
Elaine's passion for family was evident in her love for her sons, Robert Andrepont, Sr. and his wife, Carrie, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Alan Andrepont and his wife, Tanya, of LaPlace, Louisiana. Elaine loved her family and cherished time with her three grandchildren, Jason Anderpont and his wife Kelsey, Blair Andrepont Miller and her husband Gunter, and Robert "Robby" Andrepont, Jr. and her two special great-grandchildren, Vivienne Anne Andrepont and Tatum Alan Miller.
Elaine's interests included sewing, free-hand painting of flowers, and gardening, with a particular fondness for nurturing her roses. These hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit and a testament to her artistic and creative abilities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yves "Y.C." Clary Andrepont; her parents, Harry T. Bihm, Sr. and Augusta Bihm; and her siblings, Harry T. "Tracy" Bihm, Jr., Wella Bihm, and Patricia Nugent.
Elaine Andrepont will be remembered for her dedication, love, and the countless memories she created with her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made in Elaine’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
