Funeral services for Tommy McMillan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Reverend Austin Leger and Reverend Vincent Tullous will conduct the services.
Mr. McMillan, who was born in Church Point and was a resident of Opelousas, died on Wednesday, March 01, 2017.
As a young man, Tommy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He worked as a building contractor and later worked and retired as a road supervisor with the St. Landry Parish Government. Mr. McMillan also served his community as a Commissioner for The Port of Krotz Springs from 1989 until his death. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, where he loved hunting, camping, trail rides, field trials and baseball. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Prudhomme McMillan; sons, David McMillan (Angela) and Mark McMillan (Angie); daughters, Robin McMillan Ellis and Helen McMillan; brother William Ray McMillan; grandchildren, T.J. Griffin, Matthew McMillan, Blake McMillan (Sarah), Hannah McMillan, Elizabeth Ellis and Jakob Ellis; and of course his four legged friend Chloe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Beaugh McMillan; brothers, John McMillan, Roger McMillan, and L.J. McMillan; sister, Mary McMillan; infant sister, Dorothy McMillan.
The family requests visiting at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning Friday, March 4, 2017 from 1:00- 10:00p.m., with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, visiting will resume at 8:00 a.m. until service time.
