Mae Chautin

Opelousas-Services for Mae Chautin will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Father Lambert Lien will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mae Chautin, age 94, on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home.

She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Sonny) Chautin; sister, Odile Chautin Ardoin; God-mother to 9, Odile, Roxie, Mike, Jason, Clay, Johanna, Ronald, Gary and Jerry John; and 28 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Godeau; parents, Clebert Chautin and Josie Myers Chautin; sisters, Eula Ortego and her husband, Lawrence, Beatrice Grimmett and her husband, Floyd, Emma Ardoin and her husband, Huey and infant sister, Anna Josie Chautin; brother-in-law, Bill Ardoin; and nephew, Chip Ardoin.

Pallbearers will be Joseph "Joey" Chautin, Joshua Chautin, Damian Chautin, Jason Ardoin, Mark Ardoin, Mike Grimmett, Clay Ortego and Brad Ortego.
