Madelyn Shea

Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Madelyn P. Shea at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Reverend James Brady will conduct the funeral service. Burial will take place in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Shea, age 90, died on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Rosewood Retirement Home in Lafayette, LA.

Madelyn was a devout Catholic and was a past parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Opelousas. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, William L. Shea and wife, Dorothy, of Henderson, Nevada John R. Shea and wife, Terri, of Lafayette, LA three grandchildren, Jonathan Shea and wife, Crystal Lindsey Phillips and husband, Dr. Charles Phillips Lauren Shea and fianc, David Hernandez and five greatgrandchildren, Jacob Shea, Thomas Shea, Ryan Shea, Caroline Phillips and Kate Phillips. She is also survived by her nephew, Charles Mikel and wife, Brenda and her niece, Janys Dugas and husband, Harry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Louise Plauche and her sister, Ruth Mikel.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, October 17, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m.
