Opelousas - Funeral services for Madelyn McKinney will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Reverend James Brady will conduct the services. Interment will be held Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Mrs. McKinney, age 85, died on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette, LA.

Mrs. McKinney enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren as well as diving into a good book. She was a beautician for 40 years and a sales representative at Brown's furniture for 25 years. She was a member of the Ladies Elks Auxiliary and other civic organizations. She was also involved with AIC activities and the PTA.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Mr. Charles E. McKinney; her daughter, Vivienne Lynn McKinney Gallet and husband Blake Gallet of Carencro, LA; her two grandchildren, Oliver Gallet of Liberty, TN, Lauren Gallet and fiancé Nicholas Boullion of Carencro, LA; her four great-grandchildren, Kodey and Kaydance Boullion of California, Caroline and Connor Dean of Carencro, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Velma Trahan.

Pallbearers will be Blake Gallet, Oliver Gallet, Nicholas Boullion, Wesley Walker, Brent Benson and Herbert Walker.

The family has requested visitation be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
