Mabel Eubanks

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Mabel May Robin Eubanks will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will conduct the mass.

Mrs. Eubanks, age 77, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Monday, August 8, 2011 at her residence in Opelousas.

Mabel was a member of the Eastern Star and worked as a volunteer with the March of Dimes, United Way, Yambilee Association and also at the skating rink in Opelousas. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughters, Beth Paleogos and husband, Todd, of Council Bluffs, Iowa Carla Eubanks, Cathy Eubanks and Jacqueline Eubanks Ortego all of Opelousas, La. her brothersinlaw, Clarence Stephen and George Gennuso both of Opelousas, La. and a special family friend, Dennis Ledoux, who was like a son to the Eubanks family. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Marty Arnaud, Nick Arnaud, Dorie Arnaud, Zach Eubanks, Katie Paleogos, Jasmine Eubanks, Grace Girouard and Adam Eubanks.

She was preceded in death by husband, Carl N. Eubanks her sisters, Ida Courville, Alzera Perry, Hilda Gennuso, Hazel Stephen, Sybil Brashear, Lucy Cahanin, Gloria Robin and her brothers, Pierre Robin and Adam Robin.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
