Leonville- Due to the Covid 19 mandated gathering restrictions, private graveside services will be held for Lynwood Rufus Hebert at St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery in Leonville, LA. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will conduct the service.
Lynwood, age 76, died at his residence in Leonville, LA on April 8, 2020.
Family was everything to him.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elsie Stelly Hebert; his sons, Shane Hebert and wife Susan, Eric Hebert and wife Tina, and Lynwood A. Hebert and wife Lisa; his daughters, Leslie Hebert and Alyce Hebert Ryder and husband Brent; brother, Lionel Stelly; sisters, Ginny Dupuis, Jacqueline Mahmoudi, and Peggy Hebert; 14 grandchildren, Ross, Lance, and Caroline Hebert, Brooke, John Grant, Hannah, and Zachary Hebert, Taylor, Kane, Leigh-Ann, and Lyn David Hebert, Addie, Ella and Sam Hanks; 21 great grandchildren, Roan, McCoy, Anderson, Lance- Michael, Isaac, Silas, Carter, Luke Thomas, Brent, Parker, Jordyn, Jaxson, Livi, Saylor, Griffin, Annie, Ellison, Hayes, Halle, Hudson and Landon.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Winnie Lee Fontenot Hebert; his sister, Barbara; his infant brother, Wayne, and his parents, Rufus and Vivian Hebert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Opelousas Catholic School or the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, LA.
