Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lynne Chachere (Webre) Szewczyk at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.  Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Rosary at 1:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lynne Chachere (Webre) Szewczyk, age 79, on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her residence.

Lynne was a member of the Beta Club and the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed beach trips with family, watching all her grandchildren and great-grands' sports and activities, but most importantly, being surrounded by family.  She received multiple achievements and awards throughout her real estate career.  Lynne will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Danielle David-Allen and husband, Joel of Tulsa, OK, Ashley David Fontenot and husband, Dr. Brandon Fontenot of Ville Platte, and Brooke David of Ville Platte, La and her grandson, Jeffery Hunter David of Ville Platte, La.  She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Korryn Young and Presley Allen of Tulsa, OK, Layla, Rhett, Eden and Maddox Fontenot of Ville Platte, La. and Monroe Willis of Ville Platte, La. and her daughter, Darla Fontenot of Opelousas, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Szewczyk of Opelousas; her parents, Louis Chachere, Sr. and Earline Abell Chachere of Opelousas and her siblings, Louis Chachere, Jr., and Pam Chachere Barnett of Opelousas.

Pallbearers will be Joel Allen, Dr. Brandon Fontenot, Jay Barnett, Adrien Adams, Derrick Comeaux and Glenn Carter.
