Funeral Services for Mrs. Lydie Tate Soileau will be held Wednesday, August 9th, 2006 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with interment at Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Jeff DeBlanc will conduct the services.

Mrs. Soileau, age 92, died on Monday, August 7th, 2006 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Altar Society for 50 years, a Grey Lady volunteer at Opelousas General Hospital and a member of the Woodmen of the World for 60 years.

Mrs. Soileau is the mother to Betty Jane Soileau Rabalais of Lafayette, and Cecil W. Soileau and his wife Karen of River Ridge, La. She is also survived by her 2 children and her daughter-in-law Karen Soileau. She has 4 grandchildren; Christine Taylor Gibson, Tony Taylor and his wife Mona, Lorraine Taylor and Valerie Taylor. She has 8 great-grandchildren; Catherine Murff, Anthony Taylor Jr and his wife Danielle, Rebecca Cason, Allison Taylor, Mark Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Kindred Gibson and Natalie Taylor. Her 5 great-great-grandchildren are Rayce, Lisa and Stephanie Murff, Joshua Reaux and Aiden Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Anthony Percy Soileau, her parents Clovis and Aurelin Andrus Tate, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visitation will be observed at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Wednesday, August 9th, 2006 from 10:00AM till time of service. A rosary will be recited at 10:30AM.
