Lurie Ray

Funeral services for Lurie Mae Ray will be held Tuesday July 14, 2009 at 3:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs. The interment will take place at the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Bro. Chad Bolfa will conduct the services.

Mrs. Ray, age 87, a resident of Krotz Springs died Sunday July 12, 2009 at her residence.

Survivors include her sons; Johnny Ray, Jr. and wife Barbara of Krotz Springs, Charles Freddie Ray and wife Elaine of Port Barre, Douglas Ray and wife Della of Krotz Springs and Daniel Ray and wife Rose of Krotz Springs, daughter; Margaret Slocum and husband Wayne of Krotz Springs, brother; Floyd Ducote of Smithville, Virginia, sister Marjorie Detsy Lee of Castor, 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; Florence and Valerie Ducote, husband; Johnny Ray Sr., sisters; Helen Plaisance and Ruby Billings, brother; Leroy Ducote, children; Martha Ray and Betty Legros, grandchild; Theresa Halphen, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday at 3:00pm and will remain open all night.
