Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Lula Lou Bihm LeJeune, age 79, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park. The Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. LeJeune, who was a native of Lawtell and a resident of Lewisburg, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
She was a member of the St. John Chapel in Lewisburg, La., she was the Justice of the Peace for the 19th Justice Court for 18 years, she was the deputy assessor with the St. Landry Parish Assessors office for 20 years, she was a cotton buyer for Warbird Cotton Company, she was a Louisiana pageant judge and also a member of the Louisiana Pageant Judges Association, she was a member of the American Business Womens Association, a member of the Opelousas Little Theater, a member of the Opelousas Elks Auxiliary, a volunteer Pink Lady at Doctors Hospital of Opelousas for a number of years, a volunteer of Life Champions at Opelousas General Health System and she enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Harold LeJeune of Lewisburg, La. her two sons, James Bruce Fontenot and wife, Tommie Sue, of Baton Rouge, La. Joseph Tony Fontenot and wife, Christy, of Lawtell, La. one daughter, Sandra Fontenot LaCaze and husband, Willie Gervious LaCaze, Jr., of Pitkins, La. one stepdaughter, Jeannie Marie Saucier, of Opelousas, La. three stepsons, Michael LeJeune and wife, Michelle, of Gonzales, La. James Phillip LeJeune and Harold Joseph LeJeune and wife, Theresa, both of Opelousas, La. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 stepgrandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren and 1 greatgreat grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lula Latiolais Bihm her grandparents, Felix and Odile Bihm and Jacque Emile and Lydia Joubert Latiolais and her sister, Regina Bihm Burleigh.
Visiting will be observed on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
