Ludlow Thomasson

Melville - Funeral services for Mr. Ludlow Lud Samuel Thomasson, age 75, will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Melville United Methodist Church in Melville, followed by interment in the Methodist Cemetery in Melville. The Reverend Kenneth Chapman will conduct the services. A musical selection will be performed by Darrell Porche.

Mr. Thomasson died at Opelousas General Health Systems on, February 19, 2008. He was born on May 14, 1933 in Melville. He also was a veteran of military service, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his brother, Bill Thomasson and his wife, Marlys, of Melville, three sisters, Ruth Cathryn Hebert of Melville, Peggy Lafleur of Baton Rouge and Jane Westerhaus and her husband, Wesley, of Melville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Katie Putfork Thomasson, two brothers, Andrew Thomasson, Joseph Thomasson and his sister, Sophie Ziegler.

Pallbearers will be Herbert Thomasson, Mark Westerhaus, William Ziegler, Jr., Charles Thomasson, Bill Hanka, Brad Joffroin and honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Joffroin, Shane Joffroin, Frank Hanka, Jimmy Fowler, II, Lane Westerhaus, Grant Westerhaus and Andrew Thomasson.

The family has requested that visitation be observed at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville, on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will re-open Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
