Lucy was born on February 22, 1922 to the late Charley and Lily Latino. Lucy had a deep love and respect for God. She prayed the Lord's Prayer daily. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She became very interested in studying the Bible when she learned at Psalm 83:18 that God's name was Jehovah, and that he had a purpose and promise for mankind. It was at that time that she started to understand the meaning of the Lord's Prayer, a prayer she had prayed since childhood. Lucy loved life, family, people and animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Devoe "Bill" Gambrell; an infant son, William Gordon Gambrell; her son-in-law, Glenn Firmin, and her sister, Jeanette "Jean" Latino Macera.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Michael Gambrell (wife Vicki), Glenn Gambrell; her daughter, Terrie Gambrell Firmin, all of Melville, LA; 3 grandchildren, Roman Firmin (wife Cindy), Michka Gambrell Hebing (husband Mark) all of Baton Rouge, LA, and Dane Firmin (wife Neva) of Lafayette, LA; 2 great-grandsons, Brett and Cole Firmin, two brothers, Joe Latino of Slidell, LA (wife Betty), Louis Latino of Melville, LA (Erlene Garsee) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who were very dear to her.

Her pallbearers will be her sons, grandsons and only granddaughter.
